One: The value of human life.
- The defendant and the victim
 - For the Israelite and the stranger
 - Since all are made in the image of God
 
Two: The weight of civil justice.
- Murder and rash vengeance are wrong
 - Right to a fair trial
 - Agreement of the witnesses
 - One witness is insufficient
 - Consideration of intent
 
Three: The hope of eternal salvation.
- The cities of refuge were a type
 - Christ is the anti-type (fulfillment)
